This is simply a plan of how the marketers of the film aim to have the film distributed to as many people as possible.

Marketing plans mainly focus on who will be watching the finished film. Doing this ensures that the film will be produced and aimed at the right audience type. A way of acheieving a good marketing plan would be to do a lot of audience research with questionaires given to the target audience.

6. What is the difference between advertising, promotion and publicity?

Advertising: The way of having the public see your product or in this case film. It makes people aware that the film is there and hopefully if the advertising is done succesfully will make people want to go and view the film. Advertisting can be done through posters, trailers, internet and radio.

Promotion: There are 5 main aspects of promotion: personal selling, advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing and publicity.

Publicity: This tends to not be self done by the film producer but instead by other media sources for example news papers. Good publicity like a film review in a magazine, online or in a newspaper can do great things for a films success as people are more likely to go see a film the more it is being reccomended to them by other people.
