Beginning: Main character has a paranoia/anxiety and
believes someone is following her. The start of the film begins with Evie's dream. She is dreaming of running through a forest and see’s the ‘figure’. This
is the first time we see the figure of a young girl. The scene then carries on
with the alarm clock ringing and the main girl is then suddenly woken up. The
rest of the scene is just of the Evie going about her everyday routine. Evie goes to college where she goes to a counselling session, here she discusses her
dreams.
Main: When Evie finishes her counselling session, she walks
down the corridor. In this scene, we see everyone around her drop to the floor
as if they are dead. After a few seconds, we realise that the it was just Evie’s
imagination and it is playing tricks on her. This scene then occurs in several
situations. She has a doctor’s appointment where Evie is prescribed a new drug
for her anxiety/hallucinations. She then goes home to take the drugs, in the
bathroom she realises she has cuts on her arm (using opacity) and as she goes
to the sink to wash the blood off, as she looks down, her figure moves behind
her in the mirror.
Ending: She has another counselling session, yet this time
when they discuss her childhood, she makes a link between her hallucinations
and her past. It comes out that her and her mother were abused when she was
younger, meaning the ‘figure’ is her as a child. Her past is haunting her.
2.Character profiles:
Main Characters: (Evie) - False Victim: throughout the film the audience are made to feel sorry for her, its not until the end of the film that both her and the audience realise that she is actually the antagonist.
3. Setting:
The film is mainly set within the small town of Fritton where Evie lives. The majority of the scenes are going to be taken within houses or her college. However there will be exterior shots such as the forest in her dreams and places such as the councillor's office.
4. Audience Information:
Our audience is predominantly under 25s, both males and females. We believe females will enjoy our film because it has supernatural influences within the film. There has been a shift in females interest in supernatural horror films. Research shows more and more females are attending showings of this genre of film. Males will be drawn toward the film because of male gaze, as the film will feature young, pretty females. This film would be relatable to people who have also experienced traumatic or haunting pasts, and also because the actors/actresses would be of a similar age to this target audience who face everyday struggles within college and home life.
